Introducing 'Checkerboard' Neoregelia, a delightful miniature cultivar meticulously bred by Paul Wingert. This enchanting variety is the result of a cross between 'Dartanion' and 'Punctate'. 'Checkerboard' showcases broad leaves with a noticeable texture and maintains a compact size. The leaves exhibit a captivating combination of a red overlay on a green base. Large square spots form concentric bands, revealing a light green shade underneath. Adding to its aesthetic appeal, the leaf tips are adorned with a striking red coloration.
