Neoregelia 'Specktickle'
Neoregelia 'Specktickle' is an impressive hybrid resulting from the cross between 'Angel Face' and tristis 'Oppenheimer', developed by Jim Irvin. This variety, although relatively compact, can grow up to 11 inches wide in a tightly packed rosette. Its glossy light green leaves are beautifully dotted with numerous dark red spots, while the pointed leaf tips display a striking dark red coloration. During its blooming phase, the center cup flushes a vibrant shade of bright red. 'Specktickle' presents an interesting opportunity for experimentation with different light conditions. When grown in partial shade, the leaves showcase a green base color with distinctive dark red dots. On the other hand, when exposed to bright light, the plant undergoes a remarkable transformation, exhibiting a warm and toasty purple appearance.
